Hipsters of the universe

Some of you may remember them from the 80s cartoon show. Or perhaps from the live action movie featuring Dolph Lundgren in the title role. Oh dear, did that bring back some painful memories? Not to worry, Hollywood is busy making another one for release in possibly 2012. I know. I can’t wait either. 

Below, a series from German artist Adrian Riemann. Masters of the Universe as you’ve never seen them before. I’m thinking of getting the same artist to draw famous bible characters wearing Sunday Morning tees. Yup, I can just see King Saul wearing a “I predicted David over Goliath” tee.

A Shelter in the time of storm

It’s 11.30pm. As I’m typing this, my friends in Manila are in the midst of a flash flood. BBC broke the news two hours ago, tweets were coming in as early 13 hours ago. Right now, the latter is abuzz with emergency phone numbers to call, tips for dealing with floods including where to go for food and aid, and where to donate pesos. Social media has suddenly taken on a whole new meaning. Stay strong Philippines. The Lord is sovereign and difficult as it is right now, His banner over you is love.

Flea market fun

Last Saturday, my colleagues rented a table at the flea market in SMU (Singapore Management University). They brought some of their old clothing and didn’t mind selling some Sunday Morning t-shirts as well. All in – I’m told – there were quite a few enquiries and we sold a grand total of … ahem, zero t-shirts. Hmmm, maybe we need to rethink our distribution strategy.

Moses led God’s people around the desert for 40 years. When they finally reached the Promised Land, it was the one place in the Middle East that had no oil.

Every mother is like Moses. She does not enter the promised land. She prepares her child for a world she will not see.

And they’re out

After months of hard work – well, mostly on Laine’s and our suppliers’ part – the tees are finally ready. See designs in earlier posts. We’ve also managed to bring some to Singapore; drop us a note if you’re around and like to pick one up.
